Juniors and Junior Families — happy holidays!!
From the College Counseling office, we wish you all a happy holiday break and hope that you are able to share many happy moments with family.
When we return from break in January, we will begin holding our individual college meetings with each of you. We have set up 3 possible meeting times during the day : 7:45-8:30am, 12 – 12:45pm, and 4 – 4:45pm. Hopefully you can fit one of those into your schedules. We hope to conduct all family meetings during January and February and finish by the end of the 2nd trimester (end of Feb). Please see the appropriate link below depending upon your college counselor. Remember, Ms. Lewis will meet with families whose last names start with A – O , Mr. Ramsby will meet with those from P – Z. Please schedule your meeting with the same counselor your (junior) child has met with already.
Please check Parent Square for a scheduling link within this same message.
ALSO — a little “homework.” Attached is a packet which will help your child begin the college search process. Please forward the attachment to him/her or print it. Our hope is that during the next 2 weeks either at home, on the plane or train or in the car, each junior has time to “dig into” some college research. This packet will help guide and jumpstart that process. Part of that packet, by the way, entails looking through the Fiske Guide to Colleges: 2025, which we have and still encourage all families to purchase : it’s $14 on amazon here.
We’d like very much for your child to bring this completed packet to the family meeting in Jan/Feb — AND to keep it for use in the May Boot Camp. Thanks for your help in relaying this message.
We have also sent this message to the juniors both in Schoology and in Scoir. Scoir sends messages to their emails – please remind them to check their emails. ALL colleges contact students through email, so checking emails frequently will be imperative very soon.
Again – have a wonderful holiday break and we look forward to meeting with you “next year” ! 🙂
Matt Ramsby, Simone Lewis
